STUDENT

EXPECTATIONS

Our expectations are high. The benefits are higher. All students are expected to commit to this intensive and rewarding experience, which is approximately 45 hours per week. Students must meet individual requirements to pass academic courses and trainings, as well as larger expectations of the Academy – from attendance and engagement to conduct and collegiality. Students are provided with all the resources to succeed, and have dedicated mentors to help them excel every step of the way.

A Note to Parents

We understand that this is an uncertain and concerning time. KAUST is here to make sure that our nation’s brightest Saudi students remain on track and prepared to meet the next steps in their academic journey.

This new virtual approach will be a learning journey for all of us. Like all KAUST youth programs, the Academy is a rewarding commitment between KAUST, the Students, and the Parents. We ask for your support in understanding the major commitment this summer will be for your child. It will be filled with days of intensive learning, thinking, and contributing. It will be demanding, but it will be worth it. Following success in this program, your child will be prepared to compete with top peers from around the world.

In addition to academics, this summer’s program will prioritize the health, well-being and personal growth of your children. The skills and knowledge they build in the Summer 2020 Academy will serve the nation and the world in ways that are most needed now and in the future.

THE SUMMER

2020 ACADEMY

Unprecedented support for unprecedented times

Our daily routines have come to a stop – but that doesn’t mean we’re putting the future on hold!

The KAUST Young Talent Academy is launching in a virtual format from June through August 2020 to address the needs of Saudi Arabia’s brightest high school students as we navigate these uncertain times. The Academy is one-of-a-kind in the Kingdom. Our goal is to address learning and development gaps brought on by the pandemic by providing holistic support through robust academic courses, college prep, enrichment and personal development, extracurriculars, and more. We are forming a rich and lasting community. Our students will come out of this summer stronger and more prepared than ever – with the skills, networks, confidence, edge and motivation to compete and thrive in a rapidly changing 21st century.

KAUST is here for you.

Mission

To advance KAUST’s larger commitment to Saudi youth by offering the next generation unparalleled opportunities and support in their academic and personal journeys to becoming the nation’s future leaders, thinkers, and innovators.

  • To fill learning and development gaps brought on by the global pandemic, ensuring that none of our young Saudi stakeholders misses the opportunity to progress and grow during this time.
  • To produce alumni who are prepared with the skills and knowledge to contribute to the nation and the world in ways that will be most needed in a rapidly changing 21st century.
  • To give Saudi students an edge internationally, particularly as global education is disrupted, so that they remain competitive and equipped for the next phase of their journeys in higher education and the professional world.
